RE: Ford Neutral Tow Kit

Go back to the dealer. The NTK should have come with 3 sets of instructions. One to be placed in the vehicle operating manual, one to be placed over the sun visor and one to be placed under the hood to warn mechanics that NTK is installed on the vehicle.
I could tell you how to work but yours may not be the same

RE: shower water pressure

I got my regulator and all the fittings from Lowes. Cost less than most RV suppliers. Wish I had done it years ago. Now if all campgrounds had at least 50 PSI.

RE: From Redneck to Necktie

All the fine China, we just toss in the cabinets just like at home. We do have the little rubber mat stuff in the cabinets. Never had a broken dish yet. Have been on some pretty rough roads too.
Welcome to the ranks, learn by experience and you remember it longer.

RE: Slowing down did help.

I too have slowed down. Interstate speeds about 60 to 62. Didn't have any problems with traffic and mileage improved about a mile per gallon. Most trucks and RV's was also doing about that speed. Every once in a while, a truck or big rig pulling a trailer would blow by at 75 or so, but most of them was not getting out of the fast lane anyway. My guess is that they had somewhere to be that day but I wanted to see some of the country while getting there. To each his own.

RE: Newbie Electrical System question..

Another thing I do is when I check the level in the batteries, I also check with a hydrometer. This will tell if one cell is lower than the others and the charge at that time. You can get a Hydrometer, Battery Tester, at any autoparts store or wally store. Helps you keep ahead of battery problems. I check my batteries at least every 2 months or before any trip.
Check your batteries often for a few months as some older inverter/chargers would overcharge while plugged in to shore power. Only takes a minute to check the water level. I have had batteries boil dry while plugged in at home in one of my previous 5er,s.
Welcome to the world of camping.
PS, there is no dumb questions when you are trying to learn.

RE: day/night shades

If you have to take the valance down, Winnie assembles and puts the fabric on before attaching. They just hold the valance in place and run screws through fabric and all. Makes it very hard to find the screws as they bury themselves in the fabric. Its difficult but you can find them with a finger or maybe try a magnetic pickup tool.

RE: About water pressure regulators..

Got my Watts and fittings from Lowes and love it. I also keep it set at 60 PSI. Works great until you get to a CG that only has 30 PSI. If only they would build a regulator that would increase pressure as well as lower it.

RE: HDTV

Maybe I'm just old school but I can't see much difference between Standard and HD broadcast. John Wayne looks the same to me in both. The wide screens I really don't like as all the characters look short and fat. I'll just stick with whatever I have, but to each his own. The right to be different, no matter what, is what makes this country great.

RE: Another Camping World Service survey

CW, Byron Ga. Only good place around to have installation done for towing accessories. Work was very good. Problem is that your appointment times seems to mean nothing. Thats just the time they want you there. Both times I had work done, I waited about 2 hours before they actually started. I would use them again but plan on spending the day.

Are you referring to what to put on the rig or what to put on the toad?

RE: "Small" (,30') A's?

We also have a 32' Winnebago Brave. We love it. It don't have as much room when set up as our old 5er but traveling is so much better. Never had a problem parking or mauuvering around. Two slides give us plenty of room for us, Big Jake the dog and Taz the cat. We have stayed up to two months in ours and after that time we are usually ready to get home but we enjoy every minute it. Good luck on your choice.

RE: Coolant Loss

On my 2002 V-10, the level stays at about an inch above the bottom of the overflow tank. Over the years I have filled to the cold full level and after a trip it was back down to the inch mark. When the engine is hot it will rise to about 2 inches. Been like this for years and never ran hot. If anyone finds anything different, please let us know.

RE: Maintance Questions?

I too believe that the tires will age out on my MH before they need rotating, and its almost that time now. On high mileage MHs, maybe rotation would be in order.
Being an old mechanic, I always overkill on oil and lube. I use the 3000 mile interval for both. As for lube, I believe that one shot of grease every 3000 miles can't hurt anything. As for oil I also change it and filter at 3000 miles with Mobil 1, full synthetic. Probably overkill but its only $40.00 per change. I pay a lot more than that for insurance. After all, look what the MH cost.

RE: Hail damage to a rubber roof?

I would report it to my insurance company if nothing else. If it starts leaking a year from now and was not reported then you will be left with having to replace it yourself, not a cheap job.
We just went through a hailstorm recently, my truck is in the body shop now, still waiting for them to get parts for the car. Still getting estimates on the house and barn. Sure glad the MH was in the barn.
I couldn't see any damage on the house and barn but the insurance adjuster said that both roofs was a total loss and would start leaking in the near future.
Again best to report it either way.

RE: 07 Ford Exployer/Sport trac

On my 06 Explorer, I've never had a battery drain problem. However I also have an EvenBrake system that also draws energy fron the car battery. The good thing is that the EvenBrake monitor in the MH will give me an alarm if the battery voltage gets down to a certain level so I could stop a charge it if need be, but this has never happened. I will say that overnight I do unplug everything and usually run the toad engine some just to be sure. It don't take long to recharge the toad battery.

RE: Even Brake Installation Problems

I had the same problem once. I had to disconnect everything and relieve the air pressure. This happened when I tried to show a friend how it worked by pressing the test button again. After the above procedure it started working again. Good luck.

RE: I drove 57 mph and had plenty of company.

Just made a trip to Florida down I-75. Tried averaging about 62 and guess what, my mileage went from 7.5 to 9.2. Didn't know it would make that much difference. Anyone making this trip, be sure you fill up in Georgia before crossing the state line into Florida. $.30 cheaper.
A lot of trucks was driving about that same speed. Worked out good and much less stressful.
